9. The Devil and Daniel Johnston - I don't own any of his music because I can't stand his voice, but I was very interested in the story of how he descended into mental illness. Even though he obviously is sick, not once in the documentary does it actually mention what he has been diagnosed with. It sounded like he's just been sedated through chemistry, not actually treated. The parents are as much the problem as they are the solution for his well-being. Something that really got my attention was the parallel between him and Brian Wilson. It is mentioned briefly, but the similarities were fascinating to me. They both are brilliant song writers who have battled mental illness, but in different ways and with different results. Being someone who doesn't have any artistic talent at all, I've always been interested in how artists think and see the world, and this gives a pretty good picture of the "tortured" artist and how he expresses himself. With proper management and the right support people around him, Daniel Johnston could have been one of the more influential artists of this era. Instead, he's a footnote living with his parents.
10. Zombieland - Huge disappointment. I guess I was expecting more. Definitely a below average movie.
