1) The Hangover - It was funny I guess.  Never been to Vegas, so a lot of it was lost on me.
2) Inglorious Basterds - Pretty kickass when Brad Pitt was on the screen.  Still cool otherwise.
3) District 9 - One of the best Sci-Fi movies I've ever seen.  I'm buying this one to add to my DVD collection of like 20 films.
4) G-Force - About as lame as I figured it would be.  I'm still amazed Tracy Jordan does voice overs for kids movies.
5) Moon - I'd never even heard of this before I read all of your reviews.  I liked it.  I wasn't blown away by it, but I thought it was a good, solid sci-fi movie.  It was a refreshing change to have the robot not trying to kill the guy.
6) The Hurt Locker - I liked this.  I've been sick of shoot 'em up war movies and this was more of a sciency take on war.  I wish there was more cool bomb diffusing stuff.
7) 9 - Pretty much as awesome as I expected it to be.
8 ) Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs - I thought it was freakin' hillarious.  So did the kids.  The wife, not so much.  I think she's a purist and wanted it to be like the book.  But face it, that would be pretty boring.  Loved the Monkey Thought Translator and the Rat Birds.
9) The Fantastic Mr. Fox - An excellent adaptation.  I thought it stayed very true to the spirit of the book.  It was funny and sweet and madcap.  The use of the Beach Boys was pretty artful.
10) Surrogates - Somewhat interesting premise, crappily done.  Once I learned the antagonist's motivation, I was done.
11) Yes Man - Another typical Jim Carrey movie.  It was good, mindless, folding the laundry entertainment.
12) Bright Star - Got suckered into watching this stupid, boring period piece about people wearing silly hats.  So slow my wife even fell asleep and it was her pick.
13) Up In The Air - Depressing watch for me.  Too many lay offs coupled with a boring back story and uninteresting characters.
14) Ponyo - This was excellent.  Miyazaki always delivers on the super adorable.
15) The Princess and the Frog - The kids loved it, the wife had some kind of argument on how Disney is racist, I just thought it was awesome animation and enjoyed the whole thing.
16) Where the Wild Things Are - Boring as shit.  It was like taking some off your favorite childhood creatures and using them as puppets to conduct a therapy session.
17) Astro Boy - I used to love watching this show when I was a kid, so I was worried about this one.  They did a really good job with it though and made Astro Boy the same humble super powered robot he was in the manga.
18) Twilight: New Moon - I got guilted into watching this with the wife.  The only thing good I can say about it was it was tbetter than the first one, much in the same way that one turd is a prettier shade of brown than another one.
19) How To train Your Dragon 2D - What a cool movie.  Pretty faithful to the original books and really fun and heartwarming.  We loved it.
20) Ninja Assasin - Stupidly boring.

21) Strangers on a Train - Caught this Saturday night on TCM's Essentials series.  I would agree that it is essential viewing.  It was the best Hitchcock movie I've ever seen.

1. Nowhere to run.
2. Godzilla (told the kiddo "It's just a cheesy monster movie", she kept asking me "So are the monster's legs made of cheese?")
3. The mask
4. Mrs. Pettigrew lives for a day.
5. The fifth element
6. Kindergarten cop
7. Nanny McPhee
8. The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe
9. Prince Caspian
10. Magnificent Obsession (1935) - Thank you Criterion Collection!
11. 27 Dresses
12. Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark
13. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Willie is one of the most annoying female characters EVER.
14. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
15. Sherlock Holmes - We enjoyed it well enough, the slo-mo bits were a bit annoying. I enjoyed Jude Law much more than Robert Downey Jr. The trailers for Iron Man 2 and Clash of the Titans were pretty freaking sweet though.
16. Indiana Jones and the crystal skull (or whatever the full title is) - Meh, it broke up the robotech marathon.
17. Driving Miss Daisy
18. Monsters vs. Aliens
19. Beavis & Butthead do America
20. Star Wars: a new hope
21. Empire strikes back
22. Return of the Jedi
23. Ultimate Avengers
24. Buckets of Blood (Steve had never seen it)
25. Clash of the Titans - Oh Lisa Rinna, would you have married Harry if he had remained prettier than you?
26. Black Cadillac - I am convinced this movie is what made Randy Quaid go off the deep end.

27. Lady & the tramp
28. The little mermaid

1. A Boy Named Charlie Brown- "Owning 10% of Charlie Brown is like owning 10% of nothing!"
2. Crazy Love- Documentary about a guy who threw acid on a former girlfriend's face, blinding her.  Pretty interesting.
3. Wristcutters: A Love Story- Quirky little story.  Liked it a lot.
4. District 9- Liked this a lot.  Pretty different.
5. The Maiden Heist- Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken and William H. Macy.  Very cool quirky indie-type film.  Don't know if this just got a limited release or we just weren't paying attention, but this was really good.
6. Julie & Julia-  LOVED the Julia stuff, didn't care one way or the other about the Julie stuff.  Meryl Streep really can do anything.
7. The Rare Breed- Jimmy Stewart, Maureen O'Hara, and Juliet Mills.  Brian Keith plays what has to be one of the inspirations for Groundskeeper Willie
8. Cover Girl- Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly.  Pretty cute, if predictable.  Phil Silvers and Gene made the movie.  Rita was just the pretty face.
9. Big Fan- Um...good, but creepy. Sports Obsession taken to the extreme. Patton Oswalt was really good in this.
10. Zigfield Follies-  You have let me down Turner Classic Movies!  Let me down!  Somehow hearing that William Powell was "playing" Zigfield made me think that this was a movie about the follies, not a bunch of folly skits....sketches...whatever.  They were okay and all, especially the Astaire/Kelly number, but not what I was in the mood for.  Guess there OTHER movie where William Powell plays Zigfield is the movie about the follies.
11. Moon.  This was good.  Really well acted, liked the Compy played by Kevin Spacey and a smiley face quite a bit.  Skip the short film that's also on the DVD though.  It's not super short, and not that good.  No idea the director was David Bowie's son til I IMDB'd it later
12. Taking Woodstock- I liked it.  Freaking loved Liev Schriber.
13. Roman Holiday- TCM on Demand.  Very good.  Kept wondering who the friend was.  Looked him up, he's the guy from Green Acres!  Gregory Peck was awesome.  Audrey Hepburn was awesome.  Pretty much made me want to run away and play around for a whole day.
14. Pinky- TCM on Demand again.  Part of Black History Month.  Man, racism sucks.
15. Pop Star on Ice- Johnny Weir's documentary.  Really interesting.  I guess Sundance aired it as a precursor to his reality show.  I think that Johnny really got judged at the olympics based on his off-ice antics as equally as his performance. It's funny, at one point Johnny's mom is comparing Johnny and Lysacek and she's talking about how Johnny is more artist, and Lysacek is more athlete, and that's the same complaint that Plushenko had with the Olympics, that he was the athlete and Lysacek was the artist.
16. Full Grown Men-  We watched it for Judah Friedlander and Amy Sedaris.  Amy was in it for approximately 3 minutes, and Judah couldn't save it from the annoying twit of a lead.  I didn't like this at all.
17. 13 Going on 30.  Caught this on the FX HD channel while I was feeding and playing with the baby.  Wasn't awful, wasn't great.  It was good for something do have on while doing other things.
18. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.  Really cute, liked Steve the monkey.
19. It's Always Fair Weather- Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse.  Really good.  Kelly doing a number on rollerskates was amazing.
20. Parnell- Clark Gable, Myrna Loy.  Not sure if this was a true story or not, but it was about an Irish Politian (Gable) who falls for a rival's wife (Loy).  It's really bad because he's like the only Irishman who would convince England to give them Home Rule...or something.  Not a great movie, not a terrible movie.  AWFUL accents...for the parts where they tried to do accents.  Gable and Loy do have a fair amount of chemistry though.
21. Lars & the Real Girl- Cute, better and less creepy than I thought it was going to be
22. FairyTale: A True Story.  Only stoped on this because I saw Bill Nighy.  I don't know why I stopped, he's been in more bad movies than good
23. Inglourious Basterds. Liked it a lot.  Like Kwyj said, it wasn't nearly as gory or violent as I thought it was going to be.  I guess they marketed it that way so all the dudes would go see it?  Only had to close my eyes for 2 parts.
24. Will Ferrell You're Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush. The part with the nicknames was my favorite part
25. The Pirate- Another Gene Kelly & Judy Garland pic.  Judy wasn't really in this as much.  Apparently it was one of her more drugged up/sickly periods.  The last of Judy's movies that Minnelli directed.  Kelly was awesome
26. Quality Street. RomCom from 1937 starring Katharine Hepburn.  It was okay.
27. Royal Wedding- Fred Astaire's "dancing on the celing" movie.  Good for the dancing, story was okay.
A Place in the Sun.  Sad and so intense it was hard to watch.  That said though, it was really good

1) Quarantine
2) Once
3) Don't Say a Word
4) Closer
5) The Killing Room
6) Hide
7) Rachel Getting Married
8 ) Easier With Practice

An odd little movie based on an article Davy Rothbart wrote in GQ about his true experience with having a phone sex relationship. The movie was slow, but good.  The scenes with Davy and Nicole on the phone are wonderful.  And some of the scenes with Davy hit a little too close to home.  I wish I could find the original article to compare, since I;m sure there were a lot of liberties taken.

Fascinating documentary about a $5 thriftstore find that may - or may not - be a rare Jackson Pollock masterpiece and how the art world reacts to it, refusing even to believe its validity despite pretty conclusive forensic investigation. Shows the art world up for being absolutely packed with nothing but pretentious holier-than-thou useless snobs and knobs.

21. Date Night - 8

OK, so don't come here unless you are looking for a stupid action/comedy with familiarly humorous protagonists.  I am not a big Steve Carell fan when he is attempting to act.  But in this one, he is mostly being his standard Steve Carell character.  Tina Fey is being Tina Fey.  The movie is a stupid mistaken identity crime caper with lots of snappy one-liners mixed in.

So, we happened to go to a 5:30 showing because we ate early.  This showing was, for some reason, Open Captioned, which basically means it is subtitled.  Someone in front of us was buying tickets, and were told it was an open captioned showing and were they ok with that?  The lady paused for a moment, and then asked "does it still have sound?"  +1 entertainment points already.

+1 entertainment points for the ad-lib outtakes at the end.  So, the movie itself is about a 6, but then you add all that other mess in there, and it was highly entertaining.

22. Precious - 9

Ugh.  Hard to watch, but even harder to look away.  Especially the scene when Precious brings her 2nd baby home for the first time.  Holy crap.
