1. Nowhere to run.
2. Godzilla (told the kiddo "It's just a cheesy monster movie", she kept asking me "So are the monster's legs made of cheese?")
3. The mask
4. Mrs. Pettigrew lives for a day.
5. The fifth element
6. Kindergarten cop
7. Nanny McPhee
8. The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe
9. Prince Caspian
10. Magnificent Obsession (1935) - Thank you Criterion Collection!
11. 27 Dresses
12. Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark
13. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Willie is one of the most annoying female characters EVER.
14. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
15. Sherlock Holmes - We enjoyed it well enough, the slo-mo bits were a bit annoying. I enjoyed Jude Law much more than Robert Downey Jr. The trailers for Iron Man 2 and Clash of the Titans were pretty freaking sweet though.
16. Indiana Jones and the crystal skull (or whatever the full title is) - Meh, it broke up the robotech marathon.
17. Driving Miss Daisy
18. Monsters vs. Aliens
19. Beavis & Butthead do America
20. Star Wars: a new hope
21. Empire strikes back
22. Return of the Jedi
23. Ultimate Avengers
24. Buckets of Blood (Steve had never seen it)
25. Clash of the Titans - Oh Lisa Rinna, would you have married Harry if he had remained prettier than you?
26. Black Cadillac - I am convinced this movie is what made Randy Quaid go off the deep end.
27. Lady & the tramp
28. The little mermaid
29. Avatar
30. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
31. GI Joe: rise of the cobra
32. Tinkerbell and the great fairy rescue
33. Barbie: A fashion fairytale
34. Gamera
35. Iron Man 2
36. Edward Scissorhands - God I love this movie.
37. Big trouble in little china.
38. Hercules vs. the moon men. Steve Reeves in all his cheesy glory.
40. Goulies
41. Nightmare before Christmas
42. Toy story 3
43. How to train your dragon
44. The legend of the bonenapper (the bonus dvd with how to train your dragon)
45. Scott Pilgrim vs. the world. I enjoyed the bloopers way more than the actual film. This made my husband sad but I am okay with it.
46. Meet me in St. Louis

47. Elf - the crap I do for family.
48. Pride & Prejudice - Did they really need to cut off the last two minutes of the movie to get to a new episode of Kendra? Really?
49. The year without a Santa Claus
50. Scrooged

74. Scrooged - 8

Man this is dated.  But still funny.

75. Disney's A Christmas Carol - 8

This was a lot better than I was expecting.  The animation was absolutely gorgeous.  Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman turn in some amazing voice performances.  They stayed pretty true to the original text instead of making it "kid-friendly", which I really liked.  From the same animation house that did Polar Express.  I would re-watch this again in a minute.

76. True Grit - 9

The Coens sure do know how to nail down a period, from language to costumes to facial appearances.  There were very few well-groomed men and women around in the 1870's, and you can feel the scruffiness through the screen whenever Jeff Bridges' Rooster Cogburn appears.  I especially liked the way that it all wrapped up.  Matt Damon's performance was probably my least favorite, but that was overpowered by the performance by the lead girl.  She was terrific, and this was a film well worth watching, just for the performance of Bridges if nothing else.  There is the occasional fun Coen brothers snappy wordplay, but mostly they let the story speak for itself instead of forcing dialogue onto it.

This is the review I was waiting for. I'll definitely be going to see it this weekend.

I'm trying to will myself into seeing True Grit.  I mean, I love the Coen Brothers and Jeff Bridges and all, but it's hard to get into a movie when you already know what happens.

That's pretty much been the problem with every big Oscar-type movie this year.  Not only do I already know the stories, but in most cases I already knew I didn't care to see a movie about it:  Social Network, 127 Hours, The Fighter, True Grit.

I didn't technically know the story to Black Swan, but from the reviews and trailer and the fact that it was such a cliche, I pretty much knew what was going to happen anyway.

42. Gamer - really stupid, watched it because someone mentioned it and I am trying to get to 50 movies before the end of the year
43. TiMER - actually kind of fun, starring Emma Caulfield, who was Anya on Buffy. I liked the metaphor.

Since the last post was mine, adding on:

44. Me Without You - found a movie with Anna Friel in it streaming on Netflix. It's from 2001, and wow, did she ever look young! Predictable movie, kind of boring, and Michelle Williams's accent was annoying, but you get to see her boobies if you're into that sort of thing

45. Alice in Wonderland - still utterly disappointing in so many ways

Just remembered I watched this as well recently.  Didn't find anything particularly revelatory contained within, and would've preferred more actual performance footage instead of the songs pasted over random performance footage.  Much preferred last year's PBS show that was almost all performances, actually.  But it was interesting to hear Mick Jones talk about some of the things that happened, even if it was widely accepted that he was the difficult one to deal with.

I found it interesting that no other surviving member of the band was interviewed besides Mick Jones.
