What was the booing in reference to?

This...
I dunno', but I can just see them popping up a bunch of retarded text messages during the finale...which would suck.

Answered by this...
The text messages are going to be on during the recap, not the finale episode.

Phew.

ABC said selected messages will be used on air May 23 during the retrospective special, "Lost: The Final Journey."

The 2 1/2-hour series finale is set to air after the special.

Not worded well, but that's what they mean.  No text messages during anything important.  I'd have been pissed as well.

They weren't that specific during the broadcast last night and I copied and pasted this article without really noticing the "during the retrospective special" part. Thanks for lowering my blood pressure.

Oh...I noticed that they are re-airing the PILOT on Saturday. I'm looking forward to watching that again. I haven't seen it since it originally aired. Should be fun to watch the Alpha and the Omega of Lost this weekend.

I need to make some fish biscuits  and Dharma beer labels for my Finale party (of one).

I think I need a week to process. Went to bed trying to hash it all out and woke up still thinking on all of it. I guess I'm happy for all of the emotional character stuff that happened but I'm kinda yanked off by none of it making much sense as a whole. I could watch the scene with Jin and Sun "remembering" about 800 more times though. That was probably my favorite moment from the finale.

Yeah, I'm with Ms. Lando.  It was kinda confusing, but I didn't dislike it at all.  All of the scenes with memories flooding back were really sweet. Jin and Sun suddenly remembering English was just awesome.

I think it was pretty cool.  It answered pretty much everything that could be answered with an answer rather than a question.  The only thing that really didn't get answered was how Alison Janney got there and got her powers, but that would have just led to how did the person before her get it, and the person before them and so on (paraphrasing what was said on the podcast).  Which came first the chicken or the egg, the island or Alison Janney?  We wouldn't be any happier if we knew.

I went in with sort of low expectations and left pretty happy.  I wasn't really surprised that the island was purgatory and they had to find a measure of redemption before moving on, but the whole finale was done so well that the ending just felt...like how a series finale should feel: like you don't need anything more.  Sure, there are a load of mysteries that would've been cool to know the answers to, but I agree with Kwyj that it wouldn't have added a ton.  Having those question marks is what made it such an entertaining/the right side of frustrating show.

I don't think I've been as satisfied at finale since Cheers.

The island wasn't really purgatory though, all of that was real, it was the most important time of their lives.  The "alternate reality" we've been watching this season was sort of a purgatory.  They've been saying on the podcast all along that those were not "alternate" to what was going on on the island, and that they must be events occurring at another time.  The great twist was in that other time being in a place where time didn't matter.

I loved Ben hanging back, I assume because he had good to do with Alex and Danielle and the kids he teaches.  I really like purgatory Ben, it was good to see him happy.

BTW, did anybody else catch the Target commercials during the show?  The smoke detector one was great.  If you were watching on DVR and fast forwarding commercials they would have been easy to miss.

They were FANTASTIC! Loved the keyboard one as well. Were those the only two?
I also found myself enjoying the way the showed the text messages during the commercial breaks. That was kind of cool.

I woke up thinking about it too clando.  Several times.

I didn't really get that the sideways stuff was purgatory until I started thinking about it overnight/this morning.  I think that's why people are complaining, they haven't had time to think of that yet. I mean, really, they were (in their way) subtle about that.
