1. 45365 - 7

2. My Gaming Addiction - 8

A Current TV documentary from 2008, about the lives of some obsessive players of MMORPG.  Pretty interesting little film.  I like how it follows a few folks for a year or so... including a couple where the boyfriend moved from Houston to Florida for his girlfriend.  And the strife that begins to occur inside of 4 months...

I need to tape it and show it to my kids in another 5 years: see kids, this is why you don't go crazy with computer games.  A couple lives are ruined, others improved, still another ruined and later improved.  Thought it was a pretty well-balanced, if overall slightly negative take on the subject.

1. The Red Balloon - Cute little movie. I hated the ending however.
2. Pony Express - ESPN 30 for 30 movie. Another topic I knew what happened but didn't know the nitty gritty details.

1. FROM HELL - 01/01/11 - TiVo - 1 out of 5 - Sir Ian McKellan was creeeeepy. Another disturbing movie. But, I managed to finish this one for some reason.
2. STONED - 01/01/11 - Blockbuster DVD - 1 out of 5 - really only good for seeing (PERV ALERT!) Monet Mazur in the buff.
3. THE DEEP - 01/02/11 - Encore Mystery - 3 out of 5 - I'd like to see this in BluRay for scuba diving scenes AND for (PERV ALERT!) Jacqueline Bissett's t-shirt scenes. GOOD LORD. The movie really drags in the middle but it was much better than I expected. However, the ending is beyond cheesy.  I found this when I did a WISH LIST search for Eli Wallach.
4. PLEASE GIVE - 01/02/11 - dvd from library - 3.5 out of 5 - What's not to love about the Holofcener/Keener combination?
5. THE CRAIGSLIST KILLER - 01/04/11 - Lifetime movie - 2 out of 5 - I gotta stop watching so many serial killer movies. What the crap? This is the 3rd in 4 days. But, the commercials intrigued me and I dig the dude from GREEK who played the lead. But, meh. It was still a Lifetime movie.

I apparently never posted in last year's thread, and stopped in June 2009 the year before. I have 2 movie passes for this year, so I think I'll make it.

1. Tron Legacy (IMAX theater) 7 of 10 - great special effects and soundtrack. Wasn't expecting much from the story, so I wasn't disappointed.
2. The King's Speech (Rialto theater) 9 of 10- great movie. I was impressed by Helena Bonham Carter's understated performance - quite a departure from her recent roles in Harry Potter and Tim Burton films. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush should be nominated for awards. Biggest surprise was that Anthony Andrews was in it. Has it really been 29 years since The Scarlet Pimpernel?
3. I Love You Phillip Morris (Colony Theater) 6 of 10 - Having waited almost a year for this, my expectations were really high, so there was a bit of disappointment. Still entertaining, though.

Movies seen in 2011 (new movies in bold):
1. Inglourious Basterds

Not what I was expecting, and only one time did I think "hey, this feels like a Tarantino film."

Duuuuuuuuuuude! We've been watching this like 1-2 a week lately. Seems like it's always on one of the movie channels. I can't turn the channel once I know it's on. "And Cousin! Business is a'boomin'!"

1. Forbidden Planet - Not bad for a 50's sci-fi flick.

2. Prince of Persia - Liked it better the first time when it was called The Mummy.  Didn't really care about it one way or the other then either.

3. Prince of Persia.  It was okay.  It was a lot like the Mummy/Indiana Jones.  Made me want to watch The Mummy though, just for John Hannah.
