It was fine.  I didn't find anything so much better than the Swedish version, and I actually liked the ending less than the Swedish one (although the American ending was apparently more true to the book than the Swedish one).  I liked it less than I expected.  Which was a theme for the weekend.

92. Young Adult - 7

The movie flows really well, and is pretty interesting thanks to Charlize Theron and Patton Oswalt... but it wasn't particularly funny at all.  I guess I was expecting more of a comedy than I got.

1. Tron Legacy (IMAX theater) 7 of 10 - great special effects and soundtrack. Wasn't expecting much from the story, so I wasn't disappointed.
2. The King's Speech (Rialto theater) 9 of 10- great movie. I was impressed by Helena Bonham Carter's understated performance - quite a departure from her recent roles in Harry Potter and Tim Burton films. Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush should be nominated for awards. Biggest surprise was that Anthony Andrews was in it. Has it really been 29 years since The Scarlet Pimpernel?
3. I Love You Phillip Morris (Colony Theater) 6 of 10 - Having waited almost a year for this, my expectations were really high, so there was a bit of disappointment. Still entertaining, though.
4. Rabbit Hole (Colony Theater) 8 of 10 - Outstanding performances from Eckhart and Kidman.
Really, I haven't updated since January? Here's what I saw, with as many details as I remember.

5. True Grit (Mayfaire 16 Wilmington NC) 8 of 10 - I was right to expect multiple Oscar nominations for this movie
6. Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work (DVR) 7 of 10
7. I Am Number Four (IMAX Raleigh) 6 of 10 - fun guilty pleasure made even better with a free ticket
8. King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters (Netflix streaming) 8 of 10 - finally watched this awesome documentary
9. Beastly (Crossroads 20 Cary) 3 of 10 - that was painful
10. The Fighter (Colony Theater) 7 of 10 - Christian Bale was amazing and deserved his Oscar
11. Barney's Version (Colony Theater) 7 of 10
12. Somewhere (Colony Theater) 6 of 10
13. Certified Copy (Colony Theater) 7 of 10 - definitely needed to discuss this one with someone afterwards
14. Paul (Crossroads 20 Cary) 8 of 10 - Simon and Nick - so fun
15. Source Code (North Hills 14 Raleigh) 8 of 10 - I had no problems with the conclusion - it worked for me
16. Jane Eyre (Rialto theater) 9 of 10 - so good, I saw it twice in the theater. It also started my obsession with Michael Fassenbender
17. United (BBC) 8 of 10 - I didn't know the story going in, so I needed many more tissues than I expected
18. Win Win (Colony Theater) 7 of 10
19. Thor (IMAX Raleigh) 7 of 10 - I like the dramatic aspects brought by Kenneth Branagh's direction
20. Hubble 3-D (IMAX Raleigh) 9 of 10 - just amazing IMAX documentary
21. The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (Colony Theater) 7 of 10 - another fun documentary from Morgan Spurlock
22. Bridesmaids (Crossroads 20 Cary) 7 of 10 - I can't believe they got away with some of the scenes!
23. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (IMAX Raleigh) 6 of 10 - Jack Sparrow can't be the focus of the Pirates movies. He works much better as the comic relief.
24. X-Men: First Class (North Hills 14 Raleigh) 8 of 10 - this was very well done, and I really enjoyed Michael Fassenbender
25. Incendies (Colony Theater) 7 of 10
26. Super 8 (IMAX Raleigh) 7 of 10 - ET meets Goonies meets Close Encounters of the Third Kind
27. Inglourious Basterds (DVR) 8 of 10 - why did I wait so long to see this? More Michael Fassenbender!
28. Tree of Life  (Rialto theater) 7 of 10 - didn't completely understand this one, but enjoyed what I could understand
29. Midnight in Paris  (Rialto theater) 7 of 10 - First Woody Allen movie I've actually seen in the theater!
30. The Trip (Colony Theater) 6 of 10 - Saved by Rob Brydon
31. Beginners (Colony Theater) 8 of 10 - great performances from Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer
32. Cars 2 (IMAX Raleigh) 5 of 10 - probably the last in a ranking of Pixar movies, but that still puts it ahead of many other movies
33. Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows: Part II (IMAX Raleigh) 9 of 10 - not perfect, but probably as close as could be done in a movie. Alan Rickman alone received 2 of those points.
34. La doppia ora (The Double Hour) (Colony Theater) 7 of 10
35. Captain America: The First Avenger (Crossroads 20 Cary) 7 of 10
36. Crazy, Stupid, Love (Crossroads 20 Cary) 8 of 10 - love when a movie has a surprised that I wasn't expecting or looking for
37. Cave of Forgotten Dreams (Rialto theater) 8 of 10 - see this documentary. I wished I could have seen the 3D version, as there's no way I'll ever see these caves in person
38. Fright Night (Crossroads 20 Cary) 7 of 10 - Loved all the scene chewing by Colin Farrell and David Tennant!
39. The Help (Crossroads 20 Cary) 6 of 10 - saved by Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer
40. Hopscotch (DVR) 7 of 10 - thanks to CR's recommendation, I finally watched this from when I had recorded it months earlier. fun movie
41. Contagion (IMAX Raleigh) 8 of 10 - best PSA for public health ever made! I'd like to think the disagreeable state official was from the governor's office or other administrative type office and not the state health department
42. The Debt (Colony Theater) 7 of 10 - good thriller and excellent work by Helen Mirren, of course
43. Ides of March (Crossroads 20 Cary) 7 of 10 - enjoyed seeing Miami and will need to rewatch to catch the audience in the opening speech and to look for FG
44. Talihina Sky: The Story of Kings of Leon (DVR) 7 of 10 - I kept looking for shots of my hometown, but most of the rural scenes were in other states; still haven't found proof that they graduated from my high school - the oldest 2 brothers were not in my sister's yearbook, but the third brother did have a cap and gown picture during the credits that keeps that possibility alive
45. The Muppets (Providence 14) 8 of 10 - as a fan of the Muppets, I loved this. If you didn't know the Muppets, it may not rate as high
46. Hugo 3-D (Crossroads 20) 9 of 10 - great movie and excellent used of 3D
47. The Descendants (Rialto theater) 7 of 10 - Great job by the cast, but the story was just okay
48. Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows (Crossroads 20) 6 of 10 - I had hoped for more
49. My Week with Marilyn (Colony Theater) 8 of 10 - great job by Michelle Williams; she should be nominated again for an Oscar
50. Young Adult (Colony Theater) 6 of 10 - I just really didn't get this movie
51. Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol (IMAX Raleigh) 8 of 10 - now that's what an action movie should be - Brad Bird is awesome!
52. Friday Night Lights (DVD) 8 of 10 - great to finally see the movie one of my favorite TV shows was based on

I found proof in one of the "You know you went to..." pages on Facebook. :)  It counts for me!
