http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/print-edition/2013/03/08/motr-owners-to-revive-old-theater-as.html

Seven nights a week, live, original music flows from Over-the-Rhine’s MOTR Pub on Main Street, where bands from Cincinnati and across the country play free gigs for crowds of up to 150 people. Most nights – even on weekdays, depending on the act – the pub quickly fills to capacity.

But as a band’s following at MOTR would grow, such as for Buffalo Killers or Pomegranates, space for concert-goers shrunk at the 2-year-old pub. So Dan McCabe and Chris Schadler, the owner/operators of MOTR (short for Music in Over-the-Rhine), plan to change that, bringing a larger, 100-year-old nearby building back ...

Do I have to subscribe in order for you to finish that sentence, Zed?

Akron/Family next month.  Their last album was actually good (the first since their debut), I'll probably check it out.

It is/was Greg's Antiques on the NE corner of 14th and Main. This is going to be very cool. Catch an early show at the Woodward and hop across the street afterward to catch another at MOTR.

I saw him at Stanley's a few years ago.  He disappeared in the middle of the show and never came back.

I last saw him at some hole in the wall in Columbus last month and he put on a very good show. Also saw him at Arnold's last year during Mid-Point.

His new cd is coming soon (tomorrow maybe?). From what I've heard it is sounding pretty good.

Sebadoh? WTF?

Apparently it's true--on Friday February 21, 2014!  I think that's pretty much a must see for me.  I love how MOTR gets national level acts for no cover.  I've seen Jon Langford and Skull Orchard and Scrawl (twice) there.  Missed Mark Eitzel and Freedy Johnston due to work/other commitments.  Keep it up, MOTR Pub!

I refuse to shut up about Johnny Dowd until the world recognizes his musical genius.  I may lose my voice before that happens but at least I can enjoy the man's music while going mute.
