Low - C'mon
« on: November 26, 2011, 01:25:18 PM »

I want to love this album but I find myself merely liking it. "Witches," "Especially Me," and "Nothing But Heart" are all completely freaking awesome and "Try to Sleep" is pretty damn good. But there are three other tracks that I don't care too much about. We'll see if it ends up on my best albums list this year or not.

I would add You See Everything to that list of good songs but otherwise I agree.  Half of the album is great enough to me, though, that it will rank in my top 5.  I'm also a bit of an atypical Low fan, as Drums & Guns is by far my favorite album of theirs, and I realize that a lot of people didn't like that direction.  Outside of D&G, even the other albums I really like (The Curtain Hits ... and Things We Lost) probably fall into that "half is good, half is boring/forgettable" formula so C'mon was good enough for me.

This is a tough album for me to rate. I really like a lot of the songs, but the album has had very little replay value.
