Why don't we just use this thread?  It's already started.

Personally, I couldn't give a fuck. However, I'll say that i'll only vote yes if Big Sug posts here, so we can take the piss out of each other's virulently differing political perspectives and continue to try and fight for territory on Purcell's Magic Island :)

Otherwise, not too bothered.

In that case...

Gingrich is a big fat gray headed marshmallow who flip flops more than Romney, has a weirder religion and a stupider first name.

Discuss.

Mitt vs Newt. A baseball glove versus a reptile.

I suppose I'd rather have a reptile - at least it is alive.

I like Newt better than Romney.  Basically everything everyone says about him is true, and I still like him.  He would make a good president most republicans would end up despising.  Big Newt fan, but this is still Obama's election to lose.

I would rather have a forum for political discussions, for multiple threads and such.  Thanks to all who voted, especially the hookers and blow crowd.  :)

Since you capitalized it, I suppose you're correct, but if we're anthropomorphizing, a newt is an aquatic amphibian of the family Salamandridae :)

I don't think Newt could win, and it's partially because of superficial reasons. I don't think the public will go for a candidate that doesn't look "presidential."

I think the Dems are going to win more seats than you think.

Ron Paul could have a shot at beating Obama if he gets the nod.  The rest of them cannot.  They're either too polarizing or have major strikes against them.  I think a lot of people blame the Republicans for this mess, currently.  They're seen as unwilling to compromise, or protecting the rich's interests over everyone else's.  People notice these things.

One thin black man gets to be president and we're already forgetting it's a fat old white man's job?  Come on.

Being white has nothing to do with it. Romney looks "presidential." He could win.

Ron Paul is the only one who doesn't have skeletons in his closet, or isn't batshit crazy, though.  He may end up getting the nod because the other candidates can't easily take him down.

Ron Paul doesn't have a chance in hell.  He is the right wing version of Dennis Kucinich (but without the hot wife).  They both have some really good ideas.  And then they take those ideas and run so far away from where anyone reasonable wants to go that they become a joke.

As much as everyone seems to not want it, Mitt Romney is going to be the Republican candidate.  And he is probably the most electable candidate of the bunch.
