Wooden Shjips - West
« on: December 03, 2011, 04:34:00 PM »

Far out man. I dig it.

They seem to sound good live too. http://freemusicarchive.org/music/Wooden_Shjips/Live_at_WFMU_on_Brian_Turners_Show_on_November_29_2011

And here's a really trippy video. Warning: I would not watch it if you are epileptic or something.

I forgot how good this album is. It just sounds right.

It's an improvement, imo, over their last one. I think these songs are more focused, more clearly defined than on Dos.

Listening now. It's pretty trippy. ;)

it's pretty good. it does feel like a lot of long, drug induced jams though. and the singing is just kind of secondary......like black angels or something. that's not necessarily bad but outside of the flow of the album these songs feel a little alone and nondescript at times.

the tempo and thick velvety production quality are what keep me intrigued.
