Aren't most of them career politicians, regardless of age?

The left wing won't embrace Gabbard because she's probably more Republican than Democrat.  I mean, she's not Joe Manchin but she's definitely outside the mainstream.  Also she's career politician.

Democrats should probably be more open to what Yang is saying, but Yang isn't a great speaker.  And he offers politically impossible solutions.  He solves everything using engineering principles.  "Oh is climate change a problem?  We should move everyone to higher ground."   "Are there too many  poor people in this country?  Oh well, just give everyone money."

He's not actually wrong about a lot of things.  But he's not particularly right or insightful either, just kind of uber-pragmatic without much regard for actual human behavior.  He's the kind of person people should listen to, but probably not obey.

I don't care if they've been politicians for 6 months or 60 years, as long as they're good.

But if two candidates were otherwise completely equal, I would vote for the career politician because of 1) experience, 2) predictability, 3) the kinds of people who make a big deal out of being "outsiders" and the kinds of people who vote for them are just using "outsider" as an excuse for not understanding the issues or bothering to learn them.

I look at the examiner since dumping Fox.  Their editorials tend to be moderate, but then they promote mostly bullshit articles.

... and they just undid their work with a terrible article by Scarry today.  Why do they keep this dude on?  I understand the editorial desire to have different opinions, but he was a lousy reporter so they move him to the op-ed pages where he gets an even bigger voice?  It's one thing to run the occasional terrible Trump defense from independent contributors in the interest of covering all angles.  Or even as a regular but infrequent contributor.  But this guy is on the payroll writing pieces just about every day.

As another aside, the nevertrump/semi-sane right needs to quit worrying about far left progressives like AOC or even Antifa.  Not that I'm a fan, but they are not the danger from the left.  The bigger threat is the dirtbag left. They're essentially Trump supporters except they are Socialists.  It won't be long before someone figures out that half of Trump's policies ARE Socialist and people are just fighting over a perceived terms.  They'll reframe the discussion and unite the dirbag left and the alt-right because those two sides are actually not too far apart.

not that i need to tell you, but his latest arrest is from crimes committed in the early to mid aughts.  the guy must have thought he was invincible just leaving and returning to the states whenever he wanted.  what gave for them to finally weaponize decades of predation, for real?

i do like you zk, but you sure can be miserable

The Epstein multi-year sex abuse and sex-trade has been documented for so many years. It absolutely blows the mind that he got away with it for so long. He was in prison before, and then upon release continued what he did. Where were the authorities?? So many failures on so many levels. Hundreds upon hundreds of young women abused and sex-traded. Words are not enough.

Watch for the "investigative documentaries" to come in the next years.

They had all the evidence they needed, but Acosta basically let him off.  I'm not even sure how mad I am at Acosta for this.
There's no political intrigue here.

Basically, Epstein got away with it for the same reason Weinstein did, and Cosby, Larry Nassar, and even down to Louis CK.  People strongly suspected it was happening, but the victims had no power and the bad guys had a lot, and no one else was heroic enough to throw themselves in harms way and blow the whistle knowing that it might amount to nothing.

It happens in front of everyone's faces, but they all just look the other way because individually it's not worth the huge cost to them to take it on.  It takes a catalyzing event to join everyone up and all speak/act out together.

Shameful on so many levels.

I see the cooch is starting some controversy. Canít believe it took this long.

Heís one of the scariest people I have ever met.  Like not because heís a politician.  I would be like freaked out if I met him at a barbecue.  He is a 100% crazy religious nut. Nothing he says is for effect, none of it is personal.  He is actually kind of an admirably moral person, if you ignore his messed up moral code.

Like I sincerely he goes to bed every night and thanks the Lord that he is a white male Christian and then asks for the strength to do what he has to do to win the Holy war in His name.  He is complete uncontrollable by Miller or Trump.  If God tells him to do something, he will do it with no animosit, no mercy, and no questions.  Just following orders.
