That's entirely different.  I actually had never heard of a single band on the entire thing... what do I win?

I bat about .400 over the first ten lines.  Of the bands in there I know, the one band I would probably most want to see is Shabazz Palaces.

Does any remember that band Digable Planets?  Butterfly, I mean.  Not Doodlebug or Ladybug.  Good God, that band was crap.  But Shabazz Palaces is surprisingly good.

I stopped after the 10th or 12th line, but I recognize for reasons that might just be from discussions on here the following:

1) Mystery Jets
2) Alabama Shakes
3) Grimes
4) Loney Dear
5) Tanlines

(and, obviously, Maximo Park)

That's it. If it's a festival for introducing people to new music I'd say they have done a good job.

Good to know, will check them out.

Indeed! It's difficult with city festivals, though, trying to figure out how to pack in as many bands as possible. Doesn't help that they schedule about 80% of the gigs between 7-11pm!

I'll probably try to spend more time in fewer venues rather than trudging around everywhere like I did last time. My feet were so sore by the Saturday!

methinks that'll be a winning strategy  ;)

5) Tanlines

Speaking of Tanlines, here's an article about them which was published just this week. I had no idea that Tanlines had to do with Professor Murder. I always loved that song "Free Stress Test" from Professor Murder and in fact even saw them once at CMJ. Cool.

I'd tell you to check 'em out if you can.

Yeah, Ben Kweller is on the second one.  Even my dusty old ass knows who he is.

I'd be super-interested in seeing Foxes!, somewhat interested in seeing The Foxes, and barely interested in seeing Fleet Foxes.

No desire to see Foxes at all.  But she is from Southampton, so there's that.

So many bands that play this festival have such mundane, generic names that are so hard to search for! I still haven't been able to find Foxes - only Foxes! (are they even different bands?).

We told you before that we had announced all of our line up….WE LIED. Today we have decided to spring the news on you that 40+ more bands have been added to the line up. These new bands are

TRIBES, REN HARVIEU, FILTHY BOY, POND, CHRIS T-T, THE MILK, WILLIS EARL BEAL, DAN LE SAC, ZEBRA AND SNAKE, WE HAVE BAND, THOMAS J SPEIGHT, JAKE MATTISON, EUGENE MCGUINNESS, DONOVAN WOODS, DJ LEO ZERO, GORGEOUS GEORGE, THE BOTS, SAM SURE AND GIACOMO, HOLLIE COOK, RAZIKA, CLEAN BANDIT, FRENCH FILMS, THE CROOKES, CHILDHOOD, SUNLESS 97, ECHO LAKE, RED INK, NATHAN FAKE, THE DEFILED, KINNIE THE EXPLORER, LITTLE JINDER, KARIN PARK, DEAR PRUDENCE, LOVEPARK, VINYL JACKET, MAUSI, HYDE & BEAST, FRISKA VILJOR, THE ROYAL CONCEPT, BIG WAVE RIDERS, BASTILLE and AGENT SIDE GRINDER.

Any recommendations? I've kind of heard of Tribes and We Have Band. I'm really behind on investigating all the bands that have been added to the line-up since the first announcement.

They've also added a few more venues to the schedule, including a pasty shop and a launderette. I've never seen a band using tumble dryers as a stage before!

I think I've heard of Dan Le Sac.

Ooh, French Films is a favorite of Buzzstein's, and I can say they are quite good.

That's all I've got

Got major clashes between Grimes and Chew Lips, and We Are Scientists and Alabama Shakes. I haven't seen Alabama Shakes before and they're immediately preceded by Howler, so they're probably going to win that round. Having trouble deciding between Grimes and Chew Lips, though.

Gah, this is going to prove more difficult than I thought. I'm encountering a lot of instances where a band I really want to see is sandwiched between two bands I have absolutely no desire to see at that venue, while other better bands are on elsewhere...

So far my top three must-see are: Friends, Milagres and Chew Lips.
