They spelled Odyssey wrong in 2001: A Space Odyssey. I hope that was just in the title.

There are a lot of mispellings and other grammatical glitches in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".  I don't mind though.  I got halfway through it yesterday.  Someone probably hand typed these and didn't check 'em.

I guess those are the types of questions which we prefer not to ask.

I'm sure you could write the guy who runs the site and ask him all about it.

That's what I sued the guy for who late last year republished my work without my permission.

It was sarcasm not a jab at you personally.

Yah, I think JensAltmann has a bit of a different perspective on the matter, being a writer and all.

Is this really that different than going to the library and reading the book there?
I mean, yes, the library pays for the book, but these people paid for the book too, right?

I don't necessarily agree with this, but it's an argument anyway.

That has something to do with it, yes. I literally just came out of such a case which cost me a lot of money that I couldn't afford to spend, just to stop someone from making money off my work and not giving me any of it, otherwise it would have been like giving them permission to rip me off.

I'll happily download something that's in the public domain, and I happily use the library (they bought copies, paid for copies, lend out physical copies which will eventually have to be replaced...), and I'll also happily swap used books with other people. None of that has any impact on copyright, because there are no new copies of the work being made.
