I was telling Kwyjibo about this new Syfy show and figured I should share it here. It starts tomorrow, 3/25/14.

Did you watch it? I saw an episode last night. Interesting and kinda neat!
I really liked it. My only suggestion is that they get rid of the dumb reality TV drama and just focus on the craftmanship!

We saw it too.  I agree that the drama stuff is stupid but it's reality TV, that's what you get.

I hope the team that couldn't communicate gets the ax pretty quick.  Both of them were annoying twats, even if they were polar opposites.

I loved that the guy who won grew up making his own toys and such. His partner turned up her nose a bit at the thought of the tin foil technique, but still seemed open to it and let him give it a go. I'm so glad that it turned out so well and that even the panel was impressed with what he was able to do with the materials that he chose.

I agree, although I thought the tin foil looked like ass.

Anyone in on SILICON VALLEY?  Enjoying it so far.

How about FARGO?  I got like 10 minutes into the premiere, and fell asleep... but I am kinda sick, so I'll be revisiting.

I was extremely leery of Fargo just because I didn't like the premise.

Fargo is a great movie for a lot of reasons other than silly characters having goofy accents, but I figured the TV show was gonna focus on that.  But then I saw all the people involved all of whom are awesome so I decided that despite my misgivings I should at least give it a go.

I wouldn't say I've completely fallen in love with it, but so far it's been excellent.  It has a lot of the feel of the movie including a lot of the more subtle bits, but it's really it's own thing.  They would have been much better off NOT calling it "Fargo" because the title is actually distracting.

It does sort of have a deliberate pacing (as did the movie) so I had to watch the first ep in pieces as well.  But I watched the second episode all in one go and I'm excited about the third.

So, BBC America is going to show a new Three Musketeers show.

While the promos make it look reasonably entertaining, there is one thing that bothers me. The Musketeers are French, right? So, why the hell does everyone have a feckin' English accent (and posh ones at that)??

And why do they keep using swords if they're musketeers?  And while we're at it, how come there's four of them?  I wanna know!

The Four Swordsmen didn't have the same ring to it?

I was unsure if I was going to stick with it after the first episode (it seemed too dark even for me), but episodes two and three have me reeled in by being less on the disturbing side and more on the humorous side. Loving Billy Bob Thornton's character.

So far, my favorite parts of "The Wil Wheaton project" may be the clips of Cosmos slowed way down so it sounds like Neil Degrasse Tyson is drunk/stoned.
