Same last film of the year as the previous years. Gibbs 'law' in our household. I really wish this would make it to BluRay, but it never will not only because of the musical soundtrack which would be a fucking nightmare to re license at anything like an affordable cost. Including a "written for the film" song by Elvis Costello. But I love this film with all my heart.

189. The Interview (Esquire Theater)

I'll admit I went to see Wild ready to dismiss it as a second-rate Tracks, the Australian movie starring Mia Wasikowska that was released a few months earlier with essentially the same premise (woman treks through 2,000 miles of the Australian desert). As it turns out, Wild is a terrific movie, with Reese Witherspoon in the role of her life.

Foxcatcher is every bit depressing as it is outstanding. Steve Carell is outstanding, but the true revelation for me is none other than Channing Tatum, who, it turns out, actually does know the art of acting.

Point and Shoot is a interesting documentary about an American who ends up fighting along with the rebels in their uprising against Gaddafi in Libya. Def worth checking out when it comes out on DVD.

The Homesman is a heavy-duty "reverse" western directed by and starring Tommy Lee Jones. Why "reverse"? Just watch!
