Listen to BAGeL radio. They're on SOMA FM.
The dude who curates it used to publish the Bay Area Gig email List and was Frisco-area famous for his excellent playlists/mix tapes.
Good stuff. Kinda gives my old woxy jones a juice.

The Independent FM

I just started listening to them in the past couple months and they are the closest I have ever come to hearing something comparable to WOXY.

Outstanding brand new releases as well as material from the past 5-10yrs ; and then some older classics sprinkled in every once in a while.

http://theindependent.fm/

I think their playlists are on there somewhere.

Mo Herms knows her stuff. Very cool.

Thanks for the recommendation! Wish it wasn't blocked here so that I could give it an immediate spin.

It's blocked at my office as well. Download the TuneIn Radio app and listen to it on your phone. That's how I listen to them.

Tried out the Independent for the last week or so, and I have to say I am rather enjoying it.  It's not perfect... nothing is.  But it's pretty close.

WFMU wake and bake with clay pigeon. 6am-9am mon-fri....or stream older shows anytime.

been on this train for a bit and love it. the guy has a touch of dr. demento with a skit here and there....weird news...haz mat reports....crazy classifieds......animal features......today in history....artists of the week (recently, public enemy, t-rex, aretha franklin, todd rundgren, etc) and gobs of musical knowledge. you will hear everything from wire, x, ramones, to isley brothers, neil young, the monkees....80's synth and early 90's rap.........it's all over the map but nothing sucks.

not a place to hear a lot of brand new stuff......there are a few thrown in a week, but it's just an interesting mix with a very funny, likable vibe.

Some of you may be familiar with Trash Flow Radio, the 2 hour program on Cincinnati's community radio station WAIF every Saturday afternoon 3 to 5 pm, with host Ken Katkin.

Ken's shows are all over the place, sometimes mystifying, never boring. For example, this past Saturday, at the occasion of Yo La Tengo's show in Columbus that evening, Ken did the entire 2 hour show on YLT, and not just that, but only YLT covers of other artists! For good measure one of the YLT guys called in for a 20 min. on air interview. Check out the playlist from that, and other past Trash Flow Radio shows on its facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/trashflow/

If you are in Cincinnati: tune in to 88.3 FM
If you are outside of Cincinnati, it'll stream at www.waif883.org

I'm sure euro knows this already but for those that don't, Trash Flow Radio's time slot has temporarily expanded to three hours every Saturday afternoon, from 3 PM To 6 PM.  The extra hour is due to the host of the show that normally runs from 5 PM to 6 PM not wanting to come to the station during the COVID-19 pandemic. Can't say I blame him.  Anyway, I listened to some of the show while in my car this afternoon (had to take a drive to battle cabin fever) and it's as good as ever.  It's well worth tuning in to hear.

I refuse to shut up about Johnny Dowd until the world recognizes his musical genius.  I may lose my voice before that happens but at least I can enjoy the man's music while going mute.

Don't feed trolls by responding to or acknowledging them.
