Yeah, Say Sue Me and Otoboke Beaver are both on my list. Also Yellow Fang & Gong Gong Gong.

My can't miss bands are Oh Sees, Viagra Boys, Warmduscher, Z, Boy Azooga and Surfbort.
Also trying to work my schedule to catch Big Joanie, Sharkmuffin, Sneaks, Squid, Acid Tongue and Gnarcissists (among others).

Mike is dead set on seeing Nots, Priests and The Beths, so I'll be seeing them too.

Looking for something to do this coming Friday evening?

Why not check out Leggy, playing Fountain Square’s indie summer series. They play at 9 pm on the dot. (Cloud Nothings play at 10 pm).

The band will have CDs, vinyl (for anyone deeming CDs uncool), cassettes (yes, the latest ‘chill’ thing), and brand new T-shirts for sale.

I will tag along for the first week of their UK tour. 7 shows in 7 days, hitting a few towns I've never been before (Newcastle, Brighton). Really looking forward to that. The band is going all out. They have UK tour T-shirts printed up, which I've seen and think are really cool. And of course they'll have their CDs, vinyls and cassettes. Selling merch is where they make most of their money.

For whatever reason, Leggy has always been received better in the UK than they have here in the US. This will be my 3rd time in 4 years catching them in the UK (I missed one year). I'll be the merch guy during that one week.

Than you for the heads up. Looking forward to it. A shame that Leggy isn't playing in Southampton.... (which I've never visited either)

Southampton is NOT a pretty city. But Brighton is fantastic. Lots of really cool, funky indie shops and boutiques, great vibe and OMG the vegetarian food options are off the hook! Great seaside town.

I am now back from that week in the UK where I was the merch guy for Leggy. And you were right, MK. Brighton turned out to be the highlight of the trip for me. Just absolutely nice little seaside town with lots of great crooked streets and bars and shops. Plus the weather cooperated nicely for the 24 hrs. we were there, so that was even better.

Last week was of course a tumultuous week in British politics. That Boris Johnson guy is right up there with Trump from all I see. Just nuts. When we got to London, I immediately went to Westminster to check out the demonstrations (mostly anti-brexit). I have never felt such a charged atmosphere in London ever before.
