I refuse to shut up about Johnny Dowd until the world recognizes his musical genius.  I may lose my voice before that happens but at least I can enjoy the man's music while going mute.

Definitely interested in Prophet.  I'm not familiar enough with Son Volt to form an opinion of their music.

I will check in with you as the date approaches! No hope for me going but I see that Rev Horton Heat and Nashville Pussy will be passing through on Thursday. How come no Backyard Tire Fire? Because they stink!!!

April 13, 2017 - Jonathan Richman
May 11, 2017 -  Old 97s

I'll probably be able to see Jonathan as I'm off that week.  He always puts on a fine show. Saw him at the old SGH location in '08. mik was also in attendance.

I noticed those 2 as well. I never miss a chance to see the Old 97s. And I saw Jonathan Richman the last time he played SGHR. It was a fun show even if he really didn't play any of his hits.

You never know quite what you'll get with Jonathan.  He rarely if ever plays There's Something About Mary--probably the same with Roadrunner.  He does, though, usually do I Was Dancing At The Lesbian Bar--one of my favorites.

April 13, 2017 - Jonathan Richman

This show is in the Revival Room, not the Sanctuary.  If anyone is interested in going, I advise getting your tickets soon.  Jonathan would be unlikely to totally fill the main room but a Revival Room sell out is certainly possible. I got my ticket late this afternoon.

2 more shows I'd like to see! Hard to believe it was '08 when we saw Jonathon Richman at SGH - it was a good one.

Chuck is now doing solo shows? That is I think the very first time (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Wrong.  It's not a thing, he just does solo shows sometimes if someone asks, or if the rest of the band isn't available.  Sometimes he and Lisa do shows, just the two of them, under the name Appalachian Cancer, also.
