Happy to see Hull City return to the Premier league. I've had a soft spot for them since the Lokeren encounter in the Europa League (my gosh, can it really be almost 2 years ago?) Great fans, nice city.

This is a fascinating look into the future of Russian football. I really like Sergey Galitskiy's approach.

Not really BPL-related, but the article does mention Southampton FC's youth academy as being a model.

The article for me merely reinforces the idea that without money, you are nothing in football. Of course you need other things too, like good management, a clear vision of what you want to do, etc. But if you don't have money, it's a non-starter.

Speaking of "Barclays" Premier League...am I right in thinking that Barclays will no longer be the sponsor? Have the announced the next one yet?

who would want to sponsor the Premier League anyway? I mean, really  ;)

As a complete aside, 8 of the starting 11 Belgian Red Devils in tonight's friendly against Finland were Premier League players, and 2 more PL players subbed. Lukaku (who wasn't supposed to play) came in as a sub and saved Belgium's honor by scoring the equalizer in the 89th min. If that guy has a good Euro, I can't wait to see where he ends up... and for how much money

The Quiet Success of Southampton

"For instance, Everton’s interest in appointing Ronald Koeman was considered so unlikely to tempt the Southampton manager that key figures at the club cannot recall there even being a meeting about it."

Whoops.
