Abandoned Movies in 2016
« on: January 05, 2016, 11:51:02 AM »

I have decided I am not going to waste AS much time on movies that are quite evidently shit in 2016. So with that in mind....

1 ● A Case of You
So many romantic moves about people who change their 'interests' to match a prospective new partner. This one's based on Facebook stalking. Stars and produced by Justin Long. 'Nuff said. 20 minutes of excruciating script agony.

I also abandoned that movie - or at least watched the bulk of it on fast forward. Not good.

Yikes! Netflix keeps recommending it to me. Good to know that I should keep skipping it!

Fuck me if it isn't Justin Long again. 10 minutes. What else has he been in that I can avoid?

Oh! He's in some movie with a cast of thousands (Drew Barrymore, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Gennifer Godwin, and 4,732 others) where the stories all entertwine at the end. It's not good.

HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU (and you won't be into that movie, so avoid it)

I do want to see the Kevin Smith movie that he was in. Has anyone seen it? I think it's called TUSK.

It's on my Amazon Prime queue, but I doubt I'll ever actually get around to watching it, since I basically already know what happens and would be watching just of the novelty of seeing how that plays out.

Oh yeah, I wanted to see Tusk.
He's Just(in) Not In To You is definitely on the "no go" list for CR! I've seen it twice for some reason, and pretty much wanted to smack all of the characters for being jerks.

I adore Pacino. Like REALLY adore Pacino. It hurt me to abandon this. He seemed OK in it but the storyline had all the charm of nothing. Dishwatery, if you get my drift. I even went back to the start and rewatched the first few scenes in case I had missed something intrinsic. I hadn't. 25 minutes. Nope, sorry Al
4 ● Me, Earl & the Dying Girl
Dead dull. 25 minutes.
5 ● Meet the Patels
Fuck the Patels. 5 minutes.
6 ● Hitman Agent 47
9 minutes of utter shit, man

1. Rocky and Bullwinkle - Hokey Smokes!  I expected a steaming loaf, and that's what I got.  The self referential jokes couldn't make it worth caring about.  Even Nora gave up on it.  Shame on HBO for having so few selections in it's on demand kids' movies section.

1. Volunteers

Yes, the 1985 Tom Hanks film.  Andrea and I got through exactly half of this, when I said "this is terrible".  She agreed, but we felt we had come so far.  Then we put it on during our bedtime ritual, during which I was in and out preparing for bed... and there was maybe 30 minutes left in the film and Andrea said "no, I still don't care what happens".  Which I agreed with.  So it got shut off.

WILD IN THE STREETS - 1968 - TCM

The premise sounded fun and trippy, but I just couldn't stick with it. I did love the opening 5-10 minutes.

I thought about watching this recently. How far did you get?

I probably won't watch either way now that I have your review.
