coming up:

Friday, June 10, 2016
10:00 11:00 The Joy Formidable
8:30 9:30 Drowners

I didn't realize that Drowners were on the bill as well. This is f**king awesome! Their new album "On Desire" comes out later this month (maybe they'll have it for sale already at this show?), but check out their s/t debut album from 2014 to get you in the mood.

Drowners were great at MidPoint a couple of years ago and saw Joy Formidable blow Columbus away earlier this year. Bring it!

Well, that was a major 'downer'. Drowners come on at 8:35 and play for exactly 30 minutes, that was it. Their sound has evolved significantly since the 1st album. Bye bye Strokes-wannabe, it's now more like "Editors-meet-White Lies".

Drowners were solid but yeah, set was too short. Gutted they didn't play "Pure Pleasure."

We got bored with Joy Formidable and f*cked off not long after their sound issues were resolved.

At least Drowners did play my favorite song (Long Hair).

With Drowners finished that early, and the Joy Formidable not scheduled to start until 10 pm, I lost all interest and left.

4 more days 'till "Uncle Bob" is in the house/on the square!!

What's the over/under for number of pints consumed by Uncle Bob during his set?
