1. Shut Down the Streets - A.C. Newman - I've been on sort of a New Pornographers kick lately so decided to try some of his solo stuff that I hadn't heard, or hadn't heard in a while. Nothing in this one really grabbed me.
2. The Slow Wonder - A.C. Newman - I'd heard this one before. "On the Table" was the first song on my iPod for years and years, so its opening stanzas have an effect on me similar to "I Got You Babe" on Phil Conners. It's still a good song, though.
3. Sorry is Gone - Jessica Lea Mayfield - Didn't know much about her except the single from this that WNKU was playing. It's a grower, I've listened to it a few times through and I like it more each time.
4. Man About Town - Mayer Hawthorne - Quirky R&B. Good stuff.
5. Wanted on Voyage - George Ezra - Nope.
6. In///Parrallel - Dhani Harrison - Huge nope. If he was trying to avoid comparisons to his dad he's doing a good job.
7. S/T - Rainer Maria - Was surprised to really enjoy this. I'm not a big fan of punky/fuzzy stuff. I tend toward more produced than less. Really good.
8. Baby Driver (Music From the Motion Picture) - Lots of good stuff here.
9 Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend - I'm really late to the boat on these guys. I think I had associated them with Arcade Fire somehow. I can't stand Arcade Fire, I think their trying-too-hard-to-be-weird-for-the-sake-of-being-weird schtick is awful. VW is not that at all, I see now. I've got a couple more of theirs queued up and I'm looking forward to them. (I also have a couple of Arcade Fire discs in the wings, just to make sure I didn't jump to any conclusions with them.)
