Now that I have a CD player once again in my car, I'm currently listening to St. Vincent--Actor.  Up next, the Killers latest.

5- gil scott heron & jamie xx- we're new here- have a digital copy, hadn't listened to in years.  i forgot that there was the electronic version.  fucking hideous.  why distort the legend, brosef?

6- levon helm-  ramble at the ryman-  first listen to levon.  anna lee might go down as one of my favorite tunes

7- why?- mumps, etc..- probably my least favorite album of theirs.  i wonder if i feel this way because yoni lives a few streets down from me and i see him all the time

No, just keep em forever and make em collect the fee.  Stick it to the man!  And by the man, I mean anyone else who wanted to take out those CDs!

What did you think of the new OMD? I was a bit disappointed actually, as compared to the previous 2 albums in the OMD 2.0 era

I can't even begin to imagine what DM songs are like in a lullaby version, but good for you to indoctrinate your young kids to great music (if that is what you intend to do)  8)

There were a couple of songs that I liked, but the rest of the album is just OK...definitely is not a favorite of mine.  I'll give it a 2nd listen though...just in case a song grows on me.

LOLOLOL!  No young kids of my own :-)  When I was looking something up in the catalog to make sure a change was working, I came across this.  It's actually a whole series, so a few more will be showing up on this list.   This is DM songs played on what I am assuming is a xylophone...so no lyrics just tunes.  My friend said she used to play this all the time for her 2 daughters and that they know all the real songs anytime they happen to hear one.  I do think that I'll be making a CD for another friend who just had a baby of a mix from the ones I'll be listening to.

1. Shut Down the Streets - A.C. Newman - I've been on sort of a New Pornographers kick lately so decided to try some of his solo stuff that I hadn't heard, or hadn't heard in a while.  Nothing in this one really grabbed me.
2. The Slow Wonder - A.C. Newman - I'd heard this one before.  "On the Table" was the first song on my iPod for years and years, so its opening stanzas have an effect on me similar to "I Got You Babe" on Phil Conners.  It's still a good song, though.
3. Sorry is Gone - Jessica Lea Mayfield - Didn't know much about her except the single from this that WNKU was playing.  It's a grower, I've listened to it a few times through and I like it more each time.
4. Man About Town - Mayer Hawthorne - Quirky R&B.  Good stuff.
5. Wanted on Voyage - George Ezra - Nope.
6. In///Parrallel - Dhani Harrison - Huge nope.  If he was trying to avoid comparisons to his dad he's doing a good job.
7. S/T - Rainer Maria - Was surprised to really enjoy this.  I'm not a big fan of punky/fuzzy stuff.  I tend toward more produced than less.  Really good.
8. Baby Driver (Music From the Motion Picture) - Lots of good stuff here.
9 Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend - I'm really late to the boat on these guys.  I think I had associated them with Arcade Fire somehow.  I can't stand Arcade Fire, I think their trying-too-hard-to-be-weird-for-the-sake-of-being-weird schtick is awful.  VW is not that at all, I see now.  I've got a couple more of theirs queued up and I'm looking forward to them.  (I also have a couple of Arcade Fire discs in the wings, just to make sure I didn't jump to any conclusions with them.)
