Best opening sentence ever?

"Emptiness is loneliness, and loneliness is cleanliness, and cleanliness is godliness, and God is empty, just like thousands of seats for the upcoming Smashing Pumpkins reunion tour."

I have to say I was a little surprised as well that they were booking 15,000-20,000 seat arenas for this tour. I guess they are counting on an arena-sized nostalgia factor among people like myself, and I admit that if they came to Cincinnati, I'd prob check it out. But still...

Amazing writing. Lol.

I'd like to see them, and wouldn't mind an arena, but it would need to be seats less than $40 each, after fees. $100? No way.

I'm guessing the stadiums were needed to accommodate Corgan's ego.

I figured the stadiums were needed to accommodate how fat he's gotten.

I think that Corgan is definitely an asshole to his bandmates... but then again, look what he has to work with.

I think that SP music is still somewhat relevant today.  They aren't selling tix because you can't sell a comeback if you never left.  Various watered versions of SP and/or their members have been touring enough that probably most people have seen them already and also weren't particularly impressed.

And yeah, they don't look good.  It's not that Billy Corgan got fat, but that he didn't get fat in a loveable, middle-age kinda way.  He's still trying to dress and be cool.  I don't even know if they can get D'arcy Wretzy on stage.  She appears to be mentally ill and also totally screwed up her face.

She (take your pick:) smartly/not realizing how fat the reunion paycheck might be, declined to participate on this tour.

Lol. Fat Greg Dulli is lovable and fun. Fat Billy Corgan isn't.

It's a good point.

Ur.... no. Fat Greg Dulli has never been lovable (or fun). In fact, I'd say he is outright unlovable.
