RIP Big Bob Burns
« on: October 19, 2018, 12:48:42 PM »

For those of you who are not on Facebook, we lost one of our own today. Bob Burns aka Big Bob Burns aka Smoker29 passed away today after a brief illness.

We knew him as a funny boarder, a fantastic musician who toured the world with Big In Iowa and an all-around good guy and friend. The world knew him as the guy behind the TSA's wildly popular social media/Instagram account.

I'm still in shock over the news and absolutely gutted, as I'm sure everyone who knew him is.

Still hard to believe.  Terrible.  So sad for his family.

Still in shock about this.  I've been reading and posting about him all day on Facebook.  I keep hugging Nora thinking about his girls that are now without a father.  Truly terrible.
Baby, check this out, I've got something to say.  Man, it's so loud in here.

Wow... stunned too.

I can remember running into Bob a few times when we both worked down at the airport, just out of sheer randomness, not to mention that night in Franklin watching him play.

Great guy and sobering to think we're the same age.

It's a real shame.

that is so sad to hear. great guy. i remember sitting in the parking lot of wolperts in hamilton after closing the join down and he'd play his guitar and he'd sing, and we'd try to sing along. we sucked. good times.

RIP good sir. what a devastating loss for the family. i'll echo the sentiments already shared: hug those you care about, often.

A sad thing to hear. One never likes losing someone who was part of the community. Sounds like he was a wonderful guy; many condolences to his friends and family.
