Okay, I've set up a subform called NaNoWriMo blog.

Tonight or this afternoon, I'll set up a news category called NaNoWriMo.

To make a fake-blog entry, just post a new topic in that subform and use the News Category "NaNoWriMo blog."

I'll post a link to the blog on the front portal page.  Your entries will appear blog-style from newest to oldest.  People can comment on your entries, and their comments will show up underneath your entry and also as replies to your topic.

The other thing we can try, is I can now create a forum that is simply an html link to your LiveJournal that will get opened in an iFrame on our site.  I think I can also assign a separate sub-url to your NanoWriMo category so it shows up as it's own separate site, though you might not want to spend the time fancifying your site while your trying to write 50,000 words.

All I need to know is who wants permissions to post to the NanoWriMo blog and if you want it open to the public .

I can share a blog, if Lunar is willing to share that is.

Yeah I like the group blog idea... otherwise I think it would get kinda messy.

Okay, thelunarbee you're the moderator of a group called "NaNoWriMo Bloggers."  Right now, you and cuddlyevil are the only two members.  However as moderator, you can add or delete members (see my instructions to Nate in other thread) whenever you want.

Only members of NaNoWriMo bloggers can post in the NaNoWriMo blog subform I made.  The public can see the posts, but not respond.  Registered board members can RESPOND to posts, but not create new posts.

Think of a post as a "news topic" and a "news topic" as a "blog entry."  Everyone can see your entries, registered guests can comment, only you and cuddly can make new entries.

oh, I forgot.  Do you want your blog entries to show up on the front page of the magazine mixed in with other news?  Or only when they click on your blog link (soon to be added).

I think only when they click on the blog link.  I don't want to clutter up the news with my diatribes.

At the moment, when I try to post on the NaNo blog, it tells me "Sorry, but only users granted special access can post topics in this forum."

Yeah I know...  I saw that last night, but I was like whatever, I'll just leave it for now... it can be moved later.

Oh well... at least I figured out how to add/ delete users from the blog.  Bwahahahaha.... so who wants in?

You should be able to get into your subforum now.

And, yeah I forgot to hide the blog from the frontpage last night.  I'll do it tonight or the weekend.

umm, moving the blog off the frontpage is a little trickier than I thought.

I can do it, but it's going to require me to recode the portal page and if I screw that page up the whole board goes down.  It's going to have to wait until I can set aside a nice chunk of time and I have my head screwed on straight.  Just bear with it for now, and I'll get it fixed over the next week or so.
