Heavenly Creatures
Welcome to the Dollhouse
Chuck and Buck (sorry, can't help it, just love this movie)
Starship Troopers (even if it is a piece of shit, it always makes me laugh)
Valley Girl

and that switched-at-birth movie on Lifetime.  I ALWAYS watch that.

I'll have to add that one to the list to.  That is a great movie!  I thought it was pretty damn good.

Here's some more:
Better off Dead
Phantom of the Paradise
Rock 'n' Roll High School
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Drowning Mona

Juliana, unfortunately, I don't have it on DVD.  Even though I would love to.  I'll check around and see if it's available.

I've several films that I can watch repeatedly, some of which are already on your lists.

add to those -

la Haine
Long Good Friday ("right, Razors....cut 'im!")
Das Boot
Bladerunner
Blue Velvet
Life of Brian
Blazing Saddles
the Graduate

And of course, the mighty "Cannonball Run"

Most of those are great choices.  One that I haven't seen listed, which I always get sucked into, is

The Fifth Element

I think it's b/c of all the cool colors...and cool Milla Jovovich (sp?).  She's so hot in that movie...

My roommate's always watching that movie, but, strangely enough, I've never actually sat down and watched it.

I find it funny that people list Kubrick... I've never seen a Kubrick film yet that I'd watch again with a gun to my head.  Especially not Clockwork Orange.  Weird ass movie.
Kubrick was a genius, in my opinion. Clockwork Orange is one of the only films I've seen that is better than the book. Add to that "Catch 22" - Really interesting film, frustrating and difficult book.

Another one I can watch over and over - "Carry on up the Khyber". And of course "Quadrophenia". That film is the puppies plums.

As of Christmas it wasn't.  A lot of those old Disney movies aren't available at all.  My mom tried to find Darby O'Gill & The Gnomemobile for us because we loved them when we were kids.

Always makes me think of movie day at my elementary school.
Those were always the best school days.

Wow! SCENT OF GREEN PAPAYA is an unusual choice. Cool.

As of Christmas it wasn't.  A lot of those old Disney movies aren't available at all.  My mom tried to find Darby O'Gill & The Gnomemobile for us because we loved them when we were kids.

OK, so I was looking at upcoming DVD releases, and I looked at August 3 because it's the day after my birthday, to see if maybe there were some interesting DVDs I could get as a late birthday present.

Because August 3 is quite a ways off, there weren't many listed, but one of the three they did have listed as being released that day was Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

If this thread hadn't risen to the top this afternoon, and I hadn't looked at it again, I never would have made the connection.
