Car CD player:  Johnny Dowd's Execute American Folklore album.  The title is a double edged sword--execute it as in perform it, and execute it as in killing it.

Anyone listening to Margaret Glaspy? Really digging her debut album "Emotions & Math".

Two days ago, hit two 11 minute songs in a row on shuffle on my way home...  "This Corrosion" by Sisters of Mercy and "Supersymmetry" by Arcade Fire.  I decided after those two to just say "fuck it, what's the longest song I have on here" and played Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" which is over 15 minutes, and had 2/3 of my slightly longer than hour commute home taken by 3 songs.  In looking this morning those are 3 of the 6 longest songs in my whole 4,000 song Spotify list.

If anyone needs some new R&B in their life, I can't stop listening to Syd's solo album, "Fin" (like shark fin, not "the end").
It should hit you in all the groove-me and shake-it spots.

I like Prine a lot myself.  Can you or anyone else tell me what song he co-wrote with a guy who was later convicted of murder?  John, or course, had nothing to do with his co-writer's actions.

He co-wrote "You Never Even Call Me By My Name" for David Allen Coe.  Is that what you are thinking about?

Although I don't know if Coe's claim that he killed someone in the joint was ever proven and it happened before he was a singer.  However, the claim that DAC is complete fucking asshole has been well-documented and proven beyond any doubt.

CR, since you brought up Prine, I'll give you the last shot at guessing the song before I reveal it.

The song "If You Don't Want My Love", from Prine's 1978 album Bruised Orange, lists Phil Spector as co-writer along with Prine.

Spector's crime was really senseless.  He had it all and then to do something like that...
