Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)
« on: May 15, 2006, 09:33:11 PM »

Well, here it is at last, our first major taste of the all-kinds-of-crazily anticipated next installment in the uber-popular Metal Gear franchise on the PS3.  From what we can tell, the plot occurs within a world that is plagued by non-stop wars carried out by highly trained and equally well equipped mercenaries.  War has become an even more well-oiled and orchestrated money making venture that even the USís military might cannot stop.  "War has changed."

The short trailer will give you a pretty good idea of the war-torn and gritty visuals that the next MGS installment will feature. The long version, clocking in seconds under 15 minutes, will show you more dialog between the main characters and flesh out the plot a bit more.  The full version will also show off more action as Snake tries to dodge a series of massive, asskicking battle mechs and what happens to those same type of huge robots once the meet the new and improved Raiden.  Oh yeah, the total tool and Final Fantasy-looking character from Metal Gear Solid 2 is back, but this time he kicks so much ass that you really need to watch the trailer and judge for yourself (he does appear in the shorter trailer, but only for a few seconds).  Seriously, if Raiden was only so cool in MGS2.  Damn.

Due out in 2007, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will easily be one of the biggest PS3 games of the year.  I only hope the actual game looks Ĺ as sweet as the trailers.

Long version of the MGS4 trailer.  After the main page loads, select your language and then "MGS4" at the bottom of the page.  After the next page loads, click "Play Movie" in the "E3 TRAILER" box.  This is currently the only place to view the full 15 minute trailer.
