I have a question...

What's the difference between concrete and cement?

I know I could easily look up the answer to this question, but I figured I'd post it here instead. Besides, it's been a while since we had a thread like this on the boards.

Cement is the grey, hard glue gunk that is often used to bond bits of rock and stuff together.

Concrete is what you get when you mix cement and rocks together.

What?

D'oh.  Jokes on me.  I have images turned off in my settings so it displays a URL to view the image instead of displaying the image itself.  Sometimes if you don't have your post typed out just right it turns the html into spaghetti.  My bad.

I remember when the "moon roof" first came out and I THINK this is how it was.

The sunroof came first.  And it was a sunroof was a thing on your roof you could manually (or automatically) remove/slide and get yourself a hole in the roof.  Basically like a cheap ass convertable.  Convertable=sun, and all that.

Then someone made a "moon roof" and the distinction was it was like, window in your roof.  So you could look out and see the stars and the moon.  And I don't think the early moon roofs opened.

And then someone said "Well crap, why don't we make a window in the roof that also opens like a sunroof."  And from that point on, the two terms have been interchangeable.

You should know that a concrete is something very tasty:

And I agree with rva on the moon/sun roof thing. In my car I call the glass part the moonroof and the interior metal/fabric part the sunroof.

Cement: what RVA said.
When they were first out as an accesory, this is how I remember the description on the sunroof/moonroof thingy.
Sunroof: blocks sun (roof colored panel) when closed.
Moonroof: clear panel (cheapie) that lets the sun in all the time.

To answer your question, RVA got it right with the cement/concrete stuff.
