Let me guess who's going to win that one.

The British press is an absolute lake for The Arctic Monkeys, so I'd put a g-spot on them, if I had such to waste on gambling.

Yah, I know a handful of those bands.  That's what happens when you stop listening to WOXY.  The new music lobe in your brain atrophies.

Amen. Man, I wish I could still listen at work. I don't even want to go near the computer when I'm at home.

I don't know...the Mercury Prize can sometimes go to a critical darling as opposed to the album that gets the most hype.

Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me to see it go to the triumphant return of Scritti Polliti.

The Campbell/Lanegan record is good, too.

But yeah, with all the hype, it either will be the Arctic Monkeys in a landslide, or maybe no one will vote for them because they're sick to death of that band.

Yeah, but they took some crap for giving it to Antony and the Johnsons last year because they weren't British enough.  I just don't see them giving it to Mark Lanegan and his stereotypically US grunge-rock (QOTSA, Screaming Trees) background-- even though the Lanegan/Campbell record sounds nothing like that.

I didn't even know Scritti Polliti put out an album this year.  Talk about a blast from the past.

I actually own 2 of these, which isn't bad for my regular track record. I'm going with the Arctic Monkeys to win.

I'll go with Paul Lynde to block.

Too bad I didn't actually place a bet, as I correctly predicted the winner.

I'm sure William Hill or Ladbrokes would have given you the opportunity to do so as well.

Maybe I should go to them for my "Supernova will not make a second album" bet.
