Actually, they have a good habit of playing pretty well in important games, then the bad habit of totally losing it against complete garbage teams kicks in the following week.

ATLANTIC DIVISION
Clemson 3-1
Wake Forest 2-1
NC State 2-1
Boston College 2-1
Florida State 2-2
Maryland 1-1

COASTAL DIVISION
Georgia Tech 3-0
Miami 1-1
Virginia Tech 2-2
Virginia 1-2
North Carolina 0-3
Duke 0-4

Looking at these standings, a Clemson win would make it very likely that a rematch would happen in the ACC title game.  A loss would throw the Atlantic WIDE open.  Even a win is no guarantee for the Tigers, as they still have Maryland and NC State on their schedule, 2 teams with just 1 conference loss.  But 2 teams that look awful.... not to mention a tough Thursday nighter at Virginia Tech.  If they lose, I think they'll lose 1 more and finish 5-3 in conf., which will probably mean that it's going to be a tie at the top of the Atlantic.

Georgia Tech would have to collapse not to win the Coastal, because Miami is in process of doing it themselves.

While no win is a guarantee, for my money, Clemson in the best team in the ACC right now. They are the only team that, home or away, they go into the game with a better-than-average chance of winning. I can't say that with confidence about any other team, not even Miami, Va. Tech or Georgia Tech.

It's funny to think that Clemson got past the landmine in their divisional schedule, and the landmine was Wake Forest.

We've always had problems with Wake Forest (at least it seems that way.)

So it's probably a good thing that they gifted you that game last week.

Still, going into the game, I was confident that the Tiger Paws would win.

The evil, evil side of me hopes that Ohio State loses to Michigan and Clemson wins the ACC so that they'll be paired up against each other in a BCS game.  That could potentially have marriage ending repercussions.

Yes, it most definitely would strain our marriage.

A national championship game I can understand, but are you telling me you two would allow the Orange Bowl to have a negative effect on your marriage?

I would hope not, but I bet there would be at least a bit of a spat about it.

Here's a fun fact: The last time Clemson and Ohio State played each other was in the Gator Bowl in 1978. Woody Hayes actually punched a Clemson player in that game.

Clemson 17 Ohio State 15

Well, to be fair, it wasn't really a punch, it was more of a clothesline.

And he only did it because none of the other Buckeyes could make the tackle. ;)

I'm very nervous about Saturday night's game. #12 Clemson vs. #13 Georgia Tech.

The Tigers have a bad habit of blowing important games.

They didn't blow it tonight. Hope you enjoyed it!

It was awesome! If only we didn't blow the BC game.

I really enjoyed seeing the gameday at Clemson. Kirk seemed really impressed with the atmosphere and the Tigers.

I know I was impressed with the atmosphere at the one game I've been to at Death Valley.

I'm also impressed that people can watch games from the upper stands without getting vertigo.

Does Clemson normally wear those awful purple uniforms? I sure thought they were ugly.

Oh, and that number 28?  He's fast.

Clemson doesn't usually wear those uniforms. Those were new uniforms. They unveiled them just for last night's game. They usually wear purple pants for very important games. I actually thought the all purple looked sharp. It made the orange paw really stand out.

The usual uniforms are like this:

By the way that's James Davis. Isn't he and Spiller (Clemson's other star running back) just fabulous?
