suck?

Oldman to Play Deadliest 'Star Wars' Villain

British actor Gary Oldman will play the "deadliest" Star Wars villain ever in the franchise's final prequel Episode Three. The Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban star will voice character General Grievous, who is a part-alien/part-robot. And insiders say Oldman - who is considered to be one of the finest actors of his generation - was handpicked for the part by series creator George Lucas, who is a big fan of his work. A source says, "George thought Gary was the ideal choice." According to reports, Oldman's character will try and hunt down Jedi knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-wan Kenobi in the film, which is due to hit cinemas next summer.

His name is General Grievous for God's sake, of course it's going to suck.

General Grevious?

You know, I love all things Star Wars.  Because of that, I was very forgiving of episodes 1 and 2 (I still maintain they're not bad movies taken on their own).  But come on, that even tests my patience.  There's only so much we can stand.

Maybe he meant it General Grievous to refer to the grievous losses in stature he's incurred by releasing sub-par prequels to good (allbeit cheesey) sci-fi films?

That or grievous abuse of the loyalty of star wars fans?

I dunno, I bet the lotr series had him crapping his pants...I don't think anyone will pay full price for this new installment twice (if even once).

His kids NOT to make up the names of the characters would be a start.

I take it this isn't in any of the SW books then?

Why General Grievous?

Because the name Snidely Whiplash was already taken.

I've read a small handful of those (maybe 6 or 7) and there was no mention in them of this character.  However, the books that I read all took place in the few years after Jedi.

I liked it better when he came up with his own names.

Grand Moff Tarkin
Boba Fett
Bib Fortuna
Jabba the Hutt
Lando Calrissian
Chewbacca
Yoda

Come on. Classics each one. General Grievous? Lamer than Darth Sidious and Darth Maul combined.

Apparently, Gary Oldman is no longer a part of the movie--after reading this:
Quote
Instead, part of the final look for General Grievous' face was inspired by the shape of a bathroom detergent spray nozzle.
I don't balme him, but I haven't seen the trailer yet...

As though Jedi didn't get enough shit for being a movie full of muppets now we get an army of wookies?  Jeez.

I haven't seen the first two movies, like as not, I won't bother with this one either.
