I have a tape of when The Whigs (1965-era) hosted "120 Minutes." I think I also have "120 Minutes of Nothing" on tape somewhere, too. That was the show dedicated to NIN and the other bands on the Nothing label. :)

I agree with STB about Michel Gondry. His stuff just amazes me.

My all time favorite video is NIN's video for Hurt... that was awesome.

I have a bunch (probably 50) of those old Rock Video Monthly tapes.  I haven't even looked at half of them.  I need to record the ones I want to DVD (If I only had a DVD recorder) and get rid of them.  If I'm not mistaken, I have the Gentleman video on one of them.

All the Aphex Twin stuff that Chris Cunningham did, especially "Windowlicker" and "Come to Daddy" are awesome. "Windowlicker" is a laugh riot, also... as well as making you feel kinda uncomfortable, too. In a good way. If that is possible.

Massive Attack has come out with some great videos.  Kinda in the same vein of Radiohead (who also know what they're doing with vids), but maybe, a bit darker.  They have a DVD out and I can not recommend it enough, especially if you are a MA fan.

Ah, good call FG!  I'd forgotten about the video for Teardrop.  Good stuff.

Those are great - and pretty reasonably priced!!! Tons of extras on those bad boys. I think each collection was like 16 a piece at Best Buy.

by far the coolest video i've seen lately is Gary Jules "Mad World". it's mesmerizing to see the people form into all of these shapes. i think it's available both on mtv and launch.

Damn, you guys have already said my favs.   :D

The Gondry, Jones, and Cunningham collections are worth the cash, IMO.

And Angel, I have that tape of the Whigs on 120 Minutes, too.  =)

 =P~

One of my favorite videos is The Perfect Drug by NIN.  Great song, great video.  (good thing Closure is coming out on DVD soon!)

Hash Pipe by Weezer is really good too (and on my Weezer DVD!)

I've got a soft spot for Tool's Undertow and Aenima-era videos: every single one of them. Also, I'll echo JSpaceman's mention of Radiohead's videos, in particular, the one for 'Just'.

I love watching music videos. I still even put up with a lot of the shite on MTV just because I'm so into the idea of a song (somewhat) transformed into film.

If you don't have it already, check out the Salival DVD. It has all of those videos on it, plus "Hush" from Opiate. Tool is one of the few bands that make consistently great videos. Of course, it helps that Adam has the artistic background that he does.

A HA! I had forgotten about that DVD. Thanks for the reminder.  :)
The Mountaineers' video for 'Ripen' is pretty entertaining, as well as disturbing. http://www.mutelibtech.com/mountaineers/ripen.html
