Confessions of an iPod junkie
« on: July 28, 2004, 10:30:11 AM »

Ever since Mrs.Foolsgold bought me an iPod, I have noticed a serious shift in my music listening habits.  Unless I am in my car or just bought a new CD, I typically am not listening to an entire album in its whole.  Instead, I live and breathe with shuffle.

Also, I find myself buying songs off of iTunes which I would have never even thought about listening to.  For example, why did I need to buy "Everybody Dance Now" by C&C Music Factory?  Why am I upset that they don't have "The Power" by Snap?

I am dumping music on the iPod that I haven't listened to in years, but somehow feel obligated that I should revisit it now that I have a convenient means of listening to it.

The thing is, I don't view any of these things to be bad, per se.  I am just evolving.  I don't have a problem, you do!

Then I read this in last week's Newsweek and felt better that I was not the only one.

This is interesting....FG, where you headed? ;)

Delta Airlines US budget airline brand Song has launched a promotion offering free iPod minis and iTunes song downloads to US travellers.

Song is "celebrating 50 years of rock n' roll" with the music-related offer. All Song customers need to do is book and fly roundtrip with the airline using the service's Web site. Bookings must be made between August 1 and 12 for travel between September 7 and October 5, 2004.

After they finish their journey, travellers will receive one of three music-related gifts, as follows:

100 song downloads through iTunes Music Store for booking one roundtrip flight.
One Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Junior Guitar for booking two roundtrip flights at the same time.
A green iPod mini for booking three roundtrip flights.

Shuffle = life!  I know exactly what you're talking about.  Isn't it amazing how our habits can be completely overturned and changed?

Yeah, my problem is that I don't have an iPod or the dinars to put up for one.

Of course, if you want to help a fellow Nightwaver get one, I'll send you my referral link.

I love 'Shuffle' as well.  Your own jukebox 24-7.  Last week, Jen bought me an imic, so now I can start recording all my LPs and 45s!  Woooooo!!!

If he was still alive, do you think Bob Marley would have an i-and-iPod?
